Terms of service

Last updated: October 15, 2026

1. General Provisions

These Terms and Conditions govern the rights and obligations between the operator of the Storytko online store (hereinafter referred to as the “Seller”) and the customer when purchasing products through the Storytko online store.

The Storytko online store is available at www.storytko.cz.

The Seller primarily sells physical products through the online store, namely Storytko storytelling cards.

These Terms and Conditions apply to purchases made by both consumers and business customers, unless otherwise stated in a specific case.

A consumer is a natural person who, when entering into and performing a contract, does not act within the scope of their business activities or independent professional practice.

By using the online store and submitting an order, the customer confirms that they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms and Conditions do not limit any consumer rights arising from applicable consumer protection laws.

2. Product Information

Information about products, including their descriptions, features, dimensions and other characteristics, is provided alongside each individual product in the online store.

We strive to ensure that product photographs and colour representations correspond as closely as possible to the actual products. However, colours may vary slightly depending on the screen or device settings used by the customer.

Product photographs may include decorative elements or props that are not included in the purchased product. The contents of each package are always specified in the description of the relevant product.

The Seller reserves the right to modify product descriptions, photographs, prices and availability. Such changes do not affect orders that have already been duly accepted and confirmed.

3. Orders and Conclusion of the Purchase Contract

The customer places an order by selecting a product, adding it to the shopping cart and subsequently submitting the order through the checkout form.

Before submitting the order, the customer has the opportunity to review and amend the information provided in the order.

By submitting the order, the customer confirms that the order contains correct and complete information and agrees to pay the total order price, including any applicable delivery costs.

After submitting the order, the customer will receive an order receipt confirmation at the email address provided.

The purchase contract is concluded when the Seller confirms the order.

If, for any reason, the Seller is unable to fulfil the order, the customer will be contacted without undue delay.

The customer is required to provide accurate and complete contact and delivery details when placing an order. The customer shall be liable for any damage or costs caused by providing incorrect information to the extent permitted by applicable law.

4. Prices and Payment

All product prices are displayed in the relevant currency and include all taxes and fees that the Seller is required to include in the price under applicable law.

The product price is the price displayed in the online store at the time the order is submitted.

Delivery costs are charged separately and their amount is displayed to the customer before the order is submitted.

Currently available payment methods and any associated fees are displayed during the checkout process.

The Seller reserves the right to change prices and promotional conditions. Any price changes do not affect the price of an order that has already been confirmed.

5. Shipping and Delivery

Products are shipped from the Czech Republic using the available delivery services listed in the online store, currently primarily through Zásilkovna.

Available delivery options, delivery destinations and shipping costs are displayed to the customer before completing the order.

The Seller undertakes to dispatch the order without undue delay after receiving the order and payment, unless a different delivery period is specified for the product or order.

The Seller shall not be liable for unforeseen delays caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. However, this does not affect the consumer's statutory rights in the event that an order is not delivered.

If a shipment is damaged during transport, we recommend that the customer report the damage to the Seller as soon as possible after delivery.

The risk of damage to or loss of goods during transport to the consumer remains with the Seller until the goods are delivered to the consumer, unless the customer has independently arranged transport through a carrier that was not offered by the Seller.

6. Withdrawal from the Contract and Returns

If the customer is a consumer, they have the right to withdraw from a purchase contract concluded through the online store without giving any reason within the statutory period of 14 days from receiving the goods, unless a statutory exception applies to the specific case.

If an order contains multiple products delivered separately, the withdrawal period begins on the day the last product is received.

The customer may notify the Seller of their withdrawal from the contract by email at info@storytko.cz.

The customer is required to send the goods back no later than 14 days from the date of notifying the Seller of their withdrawal from the contract.

The customer bears the cost of returning the goods unless otherwise agreed with the Seller or provided by applicable law.

The goods must be returned in a condition that allows for inspection to the extent necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functionality. If the customer handles the goods beyond this extent and their value is consequently reduced, the Seller may claim compensation for this reduction in value to the extent permitted by applicable law.

The Seller shall refund the customer all payments received, including the cost of the original standard delivery, within the statutory period. If the customer selected a more expensive delivery method, the Seller will only refund the amount corresponding to the least expensive standard delivery option offered.

The Seller may withhold the refund until the returned goods have been received or until the customer provides proof that the goods have been sent back.

Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used by the customer for the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed with the customer.

7. Complaints and Liability for Defects

The Seller is responsible for ensuring that the goods are free from defects upon receipt and comply with the agreed and statutory requirements.

If a defect appears in the goods within the statutory period, the customer is entitled to the rights provided under applicable law.

If the customer receives a damaged, defective or incorrect product, we recommend contacting us as soon as possible at info@storytko.cz, providing the order number and a description of the issue. If necessary, the customer may be asked to provide a photograph of the damaged or defective product.

The Seller bears the costs associated with a justified complaint to the extent required by applicable law.

Complaints are handled in accordance with applicable legal regulations.

For consumers in the Czech Republic, the Seller is liable for defects that the goods have upon receipt and that become apparent within the statutory period. Under current Czech legislation, a consumer may report a defect that becomes apparent within two years of receiving the goods.

This does not affect the rights of consumers in Slovakia or other EU countries granted to them under the relevant mandatory consumer protection laws.

8. Intellectual Property

The content of the Storytko online store, including the Storytko name, logo, texts, photographs, graphics, designs, illustrations and other content, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The content of the online store may not be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed or used for commercial purposes without the Seller's prior consent.

Purchasing a Storytko product does not grant the customer any rights to commercially reproduce, copy or otherwise use the designs, texts, illustrations or other intellectual property associated with the product.

9. Personal Data Protection

The processing of customers' personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is available on the Storytko website.

Customers should familiarise themselves with this Privacy Policy before using the online store.

10. Use of the Website

The customer agrees to use the online store in a lawful manner and to refrain from any conduct that could damage the online store, its operator or other users.

Customers are not permitted to interfere with the technical operation of the online store, use it to distribute malicious software or engage in activities that could compromise the security or availability of the website.

The Seller strives to ensure the proper and continuous operation of the online store but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or complete error-free operation.

11. Changes to the Terms and Conditions

The latest version of these Terms and Conditions is always available on the Storytko website.

The Seller may update these Terms and Conditions due to changes in legislation, the operation of the online store, the product offering or for other legitimate reasons.

Changes do not apply to orders concluded before the new version of the Terms and Conditions takes effect.

12. Governing Law and Consumer Rights

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.

If the customer is a consumer residing in another Member State of the European Union, the choice of Czech law does not affect the consumer's rights granted under the mandatory provisions of the laws of the country in which they habitually reside.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

13. Out-of-Court Consumer Dispute Resolution

Consumers may first contact the Seller directly with their complaint via email at info@storytko.cz.

If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably, the consumer may use the relevant out-of-court consumer dispute resolution mechanisms in accordance with applicable law.

For consumers in the Czech Republic, the competent authority for out-of-court consumer dispute resolution is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI), provided that the statutory conditions are met.

This does not affect the jurisdiction of consumer protection authorities in other EU countries.
